Purpose/Mission - The Public Relations Committee is responsible for ensuring CRHRA events and news are released to regional publications and media outlets in an effort to gain awareness of what CRHRA and HR Professionals do for and in our community and attract new professionals to our association.  This will continue to be a big part of the committee’s responsibilities.  The Public Relations committee has two main purposes: 1) for our chapter and our membership to be considered THE place to come for human resource expertise and 2) to promote the programs and value of CRHRA to drive more members to ACTIVATE their membership participation.  From the media perspective, we want them to think of CRHRA every time they have an HR related editorial spot or business concern related to employee relations, policy changes, generational differences impact, changing to a 4 day workweek, etc.  Our ultimate purpose is to advance the human resource profession!

Current Issues/Projects - The Public Relations Committee is presently working on a number of projects, including:

  • Maximize the use of social networking tools to reach CRHRA members and the business community
  • Establishing a LinkedIn forum for HR related topics.
  • Continued relationship building with media outlets and relevant business organizations to promote CRHRA within the business community.
  • Partnering with other professional associations to promote CRHRA and foster mutually beneficials relationships exposing members to other professional development and networking opportunities.
  • Creating advertising materials and/or articles to be used in various publications.
  • Assist in the creation of awareness campaigns to promote the One-Day Conference, Diversity workships, and other CRHRA committee initiatives.

Schedule of Meetings - The Public Relations Committee typically meets on a monthly basis on the first Wednesday of each month.

Volunteer Opportunities - The Public Relations Committee is currently seeking CRHRA members who are interested in volunteering as an active committee member or as a Special Expertise Panelist.  As part of the PR team, we have opportunities in Social Networking, Photography, Editing, Marketing, Writing, and Creativity. As a Special Expertise Panel member, you are not required to attend any committee meetings.  You would be part of a group of HR professionals willing to respond and participate in media inquiries and requests.  To volunteer for the Public Relations Committee, contact  Rianna.
