Inclusive Excellence:
Human Resources in the Drivers' Seat in Organizations

Description:

  • This session will present ways a Human Resource team in organizations, including college campuses, can work collaboratively in recruiting, engaging and retaining women and minority staff, faculty and administrators as well as individuals from five generations in the workforce today. We will discuss strategies for HR leading effective change with respect to inclusive excellence. in addition, this session will also present recommendations for training programs on inclusive excellence.

Learning Objectives:

  • At the end of this panel presentation, attendees will be able to:
    • Build their own inclusive excellence at their organization.
    • Work strategically with all stake holders in recruitment, engagement and retention of employees
    • Learn strategies to fully integrate women and minorities in decision making and leadership positions in organizations
    • Learn strategies to have human resource departments take the lead for change management in making inclusivity central, not marginal to organizational processes.
    • Integrate legal, human resource management and social science research in recruitment, engagement and retention of employees.

Presenter Information:

Michele A. Paludi, Ph.D., the Assistant Dean for Business and Faculty Program Director for Human Resources and Leadership at Excelsior College. She is also President of human resources Management Solutions. Dr. Paludi is the author/editor of 55 college textbooks, and more than 250 scholarly articles and conference presentations on human resource management, leadership, workplace discrimination, diversity and inclusivity, sexual harassment, campus/workplace violence and the psychology of women. She serves as an expert witness for court proceedings and administrative hearing, and has had extensive experience in conducting training programs and investigations of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) issues for businesses and education institutions.
