Affirmative Action: Are You Covered and What You Can Expect from the Trump-Era OFCCP

The Trump administration Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has announced a renewed focus on identifying contractors and subcontractors who are not maintaining affirmative action plans. Is your employer one of those organizations?

This session, presented by Margaret D. Stephenson, Esq., Associate Counsel at Dowling Law, PLLC will provide all attendees with:

  • Tools to assess whether their company/organization is subject to affirmative action obligations;
    and
  • A discussion of affirmative action requirements.

For those who are maintaining plans already, this session will also provide insight into the Trump OFCCP's thinking, including their current focuses and what you can expect to be emphasized in an audit.

About our Speaker, Margaret D. Stephenson, Esq.:


Margaret D. Stephenson, Esq. is Associate Counsel at Dowling Law, PLLC. Ms. Stephenson advises and represents not-for-profit organizations and for-profit corporations on employment and other matters in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York, New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York State Department of Labor, the New York State Unemployment Board, the OFCCP, and other federal and state courts and agencies. Ms. Stephenson also focuses her work on affirmative action compliance for federal government contractors and subcontractors, developing, maintaining, and advising contractors on EO
11246, Section 503, and VEVRAA-compliant affirmative action plans Ms. Stephenson previously worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Warren County District Attorney’s office, where she prosecuted numerous matters throughout the North Country. She is an active member of the Adirondack Women's Bar Association, previously serving as Vice President and President, and currently serving as Treasurer.

This program has been submitted for 1.5 credit hours through HR Certification Institute (HRCI) and SHRM.
